Our Hero didn’t get to make a cameo at the local SlutWalk, as its-just-sex.net speculated, but hey, wow, it looks like a few of my classmates did. Two of these girls are in my gender & sexuality class, and one of them is in my French cinema class. Good for them. Here’s an excerpt from the San Antonio Express-News article:
The sidewalk around Alamo Plaza was filled with people clapping, marching and shouting for victims’ voices. It was enough to give protester Natalie Arevalo goose bumps, she said.
Arevalo also noticed parents covering their children’s eyes and ears.
“It is important for parents to have an open discussion with their children about sex, sexual assault and rape,” Arevalo said. “If they never get told about these issues, then they will never know that it is wrong to be assaulted and may never say anything if it happens.”
Yes, parents. Talk to your kids about sex! Just do it, ok?
